MISSION STATEMENT
The SUNY New Paltz First World Reunion brings together alumni, students, professors and administrators to celebrate the rich heritage, culture and growing diversity on campus. First World Reunion is held every five years and is an extension of the annual First World Graduation ceremony, which celebrates the accomplishments of SUNY New Paltz's students of color during commencement activities.
REUNION VISION
The SUNY New Paltz First World Reunion 2020: Stronger Together is a joint-inaugural event to celebrate the collective impact of the Black Studies Department, the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) and Scholars’ Mentorship Program (SMP). This celebratory event will allow alumni of color from the 1960s through 2019 to engage with current students and faculty to create intergenerational opportunities, recommit to the purpose, goals, and success of the First World Community; to provide financial support to the Dr. Margaret Wade-Lewis Endowment scholarship, Black Studies, Educational Opportunity, and the Scholars Mentorship Programs.
